Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
The long pause between my answering and hearing a voice at the other end alerted me to the fact that this call could be suspect. The caller was insistent that there was a suspect transaction on my card and I would need to supply my full name (for starters). I refused and said that I did not believe what he was saying. I then said that I would ring the bank myself and he was brazen enough to say that I was doing the correct thing and should ring the number on the back of my card. If this was designed to reassure me into going on with the call it didn't. I rang NAB Fraud and they told me that there were no suspicious transactions (which I already knew). I supplied them with the suspect number for their records.

Pretends to be from NAB saying flights have been booked on my credit card and they will have to cancel card then proceed to ask for expiry date on card. The bank will not ask this.
