DFAT does not call members of the public requesting personal immigration details. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from DFAT seeking personal information, please hang up.

Said they were from telstra, asking whether I had changed settings, something to do with IP number and my settings are too open to being hacked. I struggled to understand him due to lots of background noise and his strong accent. My phone number is not registered with our internet account. I think it's a scam but I'm not really sure what he wanted.

Listed as 'Suspected Scam - Telemarketer' so I let it go to voicemail - "Press 1 for English, Press 2 for Chinese" as above - definitely a scam.

Checking this number - reverseaustralia note no result. Went to my voice message. Voice message said "missed an important call from the government. Press 1 for English, Press 2 for Chinese". Have blocked no.
