Unknown from Wayville, maybe you work for these people? Staying "unknown" is a bit courageous I must say. Also, do something about your spelling. It's pretty woeful! In my experience donating to a lot of these so-called charities often ends up in 80-90% of the money going to "admin" costs.

Your all incorrect. Wrong wrong wrong. THEY ARE NOT A CHARITY, THEY CATER FOR OTHER CHARITIES, THEY GET PAID TO RAISE MONEY FOR NUMEROUS CHARITYS. THE ONLY REASON THEY WOULD BE CALLING, IS YOU PUTTING YOUR DETAILS DOWN FOR FUNDRAISING, DONATING AND/ OR APPLYING TO JOIN THEM. they are in no way, 'scammers, fraudsters or any of those misleading words... You lowlifes should maybe answer your phone everyonce in a while and maybe try calling back if you miss it instead of belittling companies that work theyre butts off all over the country to raise money for your sick children, for the animals that nobody cares about and for world peace for the stupid people on this stupid coloumn that have no idea what theyre talking about. Please, before you try ruining a big australian organizations reputation that does nothing but technically help you ignorant lowlifes, DONT. Because you sound like idiots. GO PUBLIC OUTREACH...

Public Outreach ... an international Direct Marketing (face to face) fundraising agency. They will never cease.
The charities pay the marketing companies to 'hire' tens of thousands of people, offer them insane (and often unreachable) goals and bonuses to reach on a daily basis - but, pay them nothing except commission.
If you, being the 374th face to face sales pitch of the day, signed up for a monthly donation of say $80, the salesperson (fundraiser / door knocker / telemarketer) would receive about half of that initial $80, the trainer of the salesperson would receive a percentage of that $80, the trainers team manager would receive a percentage of that initial $80, then the team managers company owner would also receive a percentage of that initial $80.
Thats all before the funds leave the company and get rolled over to the charity to take out their percentage for govt tax, advertising, merchandising, to cover the employees and utulities of all the offices around Australia, and then the board members million dollar salaries - not much actually gets to the said cause the charity is making money from.

Just received a call from them and called back to hear the same thing you mentioned "National office of public outreach Australia - Please dial the extension number now." I think it is probably a telemarketing call from an Australian govt office. Last time I had a call like this, it was a sales person from the commonwealth bank.

They keep on ringing, don't leave a message and leave you wondering... I donate regularly to various charities but can only give so much.

They may be working for charities but what they do is unethical. Today I had 12 missed calls! Twice I have picked the phone up but the moment you do it the number automatically hangs up and expects you to call back and pay for the call. I signed few petitions and now they are annoying me. 12 missed calls in a day is closer to stalking than a charity work!

I've got two missed calls from this number today and another two last Wednesday and they didn't leave a message. Why don't people leave messages anymore?

I get a call from this number almost daily, trying to pitch for money from me. While I have no problem with legitimate charities, many of them have directories and senior staff earning well over $100,000 each. Some as high as $200,000. Many also have staff paid to do very little. I know someone actually paid to pitch for a well known Australian charity that earns $130,000 to generate revenue for them from these calls. That is why I dislike them. If they asked if I would like to donate my time instead of money grabbing I'd be happy to help out every week.

Are you working for them? If they are not a charity, they cater for other charities, they get paid to raise money for numerous charities etc. They need to make it clear! The only reason they are calling me is because i simply entered a misleading competition! I put my details down for the big bullsh*t prize! I do not want to be harassed by anyone! Ok. I don't care how good a job they are doing. They are ruining it by going about the wrong way.

In your experience? What experience do you have to understand the cost of admin in charities? Read an annual report and you will find that no charity has an admin cost of 80-90%.

They pick certain exchange areas & ring a block of numbers in that exchange prefix, if you have a private number & your number is in the block picked, you will get a call from them. This was explained to me by a caller many years ago & I don't think they have changed their methods. I mention that I am on the Do Not Call List, I get some interesting comments from the callers, one was quite rude...
