Received a call from this number to say that a payment had been made to John Smith for $700 from my ANZ bank account. When I said that I would go into the branch the following day, they hung up. They called back a little while later to say that a payment for $800.00 had been made to John Smith from my Commonwealth Bank. When I said that i did not have a Commonwealth or ANZ bank account, they hung up pretty quick smart. They have just called back today from the same number to say my internet is not secure. How dumb are they. Number is now blocked.

Scam call. Said were calling from Mastercard and asked if I authorised any overseas transactions. I asked for which bank, and they answered a bank that I do not even bank with. I really need to stop answering calls from unknown numbers ! Definitely a scam. and rude!

Called me about my Telstra internet (which I'm not subscribed to) being accessed illegally by other people. He claimed to be a cyber-security police of Australia. I heard about this scam from a relative so I knew what it was. His script will involve asking you to install a remote desktop software for him to investigate the issue. He will blank your screen for a while to steal information and install a key-logger. Caller will ask you to login to your bank account to make sure no money is stolen.
Caller is of Indian accent.

A deliberate missed call as I assumed it may be a scam since I do not know anyone from Victoria nor formed any business relationship. I automatically blocked caller.

Caller: Scammer Got the exact same call from a mobile number 0420 040 131) earlier today. Exact same greeting & exact message: 'from the security department for visa & mastercard'; pretty sure it was the same scammer calling me.
Sounded like a call centre in the background.
