I called back the number (03) 9118 7851 but the call didn't go through

Caller: I don’t know

Said my name and asked if it was me, hung up once I responded

i returned the call but it fail and or didn't go through it. i think it's a bloody scam.
This is happening because all our telecommunication networks stored data overseas in india, philipines and other south east asia. Also, we do not have a strict data protection policy like in Europe. It's time to wake up to bring real changes in data protection policy in our country. #Stop telemarketing. Stay alert!!! until then everyone.

Caller: scammers

Just changed phone carriers, within 1 hour started to recieve an avalanche of scam calls most with prefix 03 9118 ****. They do not leave voicemail just keep calling from a different 03 9118 number a holes!

They called fixed phone line saying they were replacing old light globes with new led ones, being a government initiative. Said we already had led globes and could they stop phoning as I’d had many of these calls. Then they phoned my mobile and I went through the same discussion. Then they phoned both my fixed line and mobile again that night but didn’t say anything. Just being a nuisance call. Not sure if they were genuinely replacing globes or if the whole thing is a scam.

Called the number back and got a voice recording saying it was a marketing call and if i wanted to opt out from receiving further calls, to press 9.

Appears to be spam - blocked number

Caller: Some dude

Asked if I had LED lights installed in my house, shut him down with the "I'm renting" line and he hung up

Who are they

I received a text message from this number saying "You missed a call, but the caller didn't leave a message". Strangely, my mobile didn't even ring, just went straight to message. I don't have my phonen on call divert. I am getting quite a few of these messages lately from various numbers....they obviously change numbers regularly.
The message has a red warning sign next to it which suggests it's a SPAM call.
