I called back number (03) 9093 0623 reached IVR for a company called The Probe Group.

Caller: Centrelink debt collector

Claiming I provided false information about circumstances 2 years ago (I know for a fact this is not true) trying to tell me I have a $600 debt!

Lady telling me I have Centrelink debt. This is a scam.

A woman called my mobile number. I am a male. She asked to speak to my wife (by her first name and our surname). She claimed to be Government Human Services Dept. Told her I was the husband. She said she then wanted to speak to Paul Anthony (Surname named). I told her there was no one in our family with those names. She said she must have a wrong number and hung up. BUT my wife has a very unusual overseas name and I have never heard anyone else in Australia with her name. So the question is - was it a potential scam? AND why would they have phoned me on my number and asked to speak to my wife, when Human Services already has her number? Food for thought folks.

Claimed to be health services then proceeded to ask for details - probably a scam/telemarketer
