It is Diabetes Victoria who diabetics register with, and receive support from, they help support research into causes of diabetes. They do a great job. Caller: Diabetes Australia
When I answered I was put on hold until a nice lady answered, the lady on the other end was nice and updated my details (e-mail), she went through the whole membership sales spiel that they go through, it sounds great and yes it is what the government already does except for the discount in their own shops.
After all of the "discounts" It was a little under $30, as I am a casual worker that is barely surviving on that & Centrelink I had to say no (not that it would have been worth it), she tried to get me to agree to her calling me back when I would be able to buy the upgraded membership (I had to say no thank you).
Bravo that she was so understanding about it and that it wasn't an Indian call centre.
Diabetes Victoria. A private organization trying to sell memberships to access discounts and services that are already provided by the govt.
Just ANOTHER organization trying to profit from fools. I'm annoyed the NDSS gave them access to my phone number !!

I have been pestered to renew my membership in NSW and unfortunately they have handed on my details to Victoria...now the phone calls start! Sorry, but now I know their number they are wasting their time.
I feel like I am being harassed by Diabetes Australia. It feels like I am getting a call from them every week, when you answer you get their on hold hold music. I'm over it. Stop calling. If I need you I know how to dial your number. They also always phone me at work. When I do get someone (usually when I phone back) they push for me to pay to be a member for 12 mths.
