They actually called me by a shortened version of my name, which only Telstra do. Someone within Telstra is giving out info or they're hackers. He Said I had a router problem and would be fined $500 and have my internet terminated if I didn't pay. It's obviously a scam but the fact that he shortened my name was even more ominous.

Had a call from Stephen Parker (Indian accent) of Telstra Melbourne Central Latrobe (Latrove?) St couldn't pronounce Latrobe anywhere near to what it really sounds like. He said I had router issues that Telstra had detected I said I would take it up with my ISP, he indicated only Telstra could fix it. I took his number (03) 9028 5580 as I was busy and would call him back (I won't). This is a SCAM

They just rang me. i said I don't beieve they are from where they say they are, Telstra tech service. Told me I have an internet security issue. He then gave me this number and his name Sam Wilson, had a very strong indian accent, he also gave me the telstra ID64312. He said I could ring and he would ring me back in 10 minutes after I had verified he was from Telstra. I didn't bother ringing as I can see it is a hoax. Very convincing though. I wonder who answers the number though and what they say.

I had the same call a few times over the past two weeks. Said they were from Telstra. They generally called when I was not at home and said there was problems with my internet connection. There was a lot of background noise - sounded like a lot of people on phone calls.
The call shows 'Private Number' or 611140 as the callers number on my mobile.
I asked today if I could call them back and they gave me the number (03) 9028 5580.

Said they were from the Technical Department of Telstra based in Melbourne and I had computer problems
