Came up as a private number so couldn't check it out. When I told the guy I wasn't convinced he gave me this number. I told him I still wasn't convince he was from "Do not call". Apparently there's a scam where you're asked to pay $100 to stay on the "Do not call" list. This is a free service and the legit. "Do not call" people advised me I'm still listed. The scam is mentioned on the "Do not call" website..

She told me she was from Call Protect a service provided by Telstra to stop nuisance calls. She wanted to ensure that my protection was not terminated and asked me to provide her with the expiry date of my credit card. I told her that I was reluctant to do this because I had not way of identifying whether this was a genuine call or a scam call. She told me that she understood and that I could call her supervisor on (03) 9021 2493. She wished me a happy Easter. I reported the number to Scamwatch.

He told me he was from the government organisation Australian Consumer Scam (something) and that my computer ID had been accessed overseas. He wanted me to check my computer's ID so that he could verify that it was not my computer that was accessing from overseas. I almost did it but was cautious so I asked him for his number so I could phone back. He said 'don't you trust the government agency? Someone can access all your data and do things with it" I said I wanted to phone back to check he was genuine. Then he said the phone line was not working at the moment and I was risking losing all my data. He didn't get cranky but he was miffed that I didn't trust him. After reading all these other comments I'm glad I didn't trust him.

We also got a call from (03) 9021 2493 on 29/3 but at 4:32pm.. It went straight to message bank but no message left.

this number was on my phone and when i rang it back it says it`s disconnected

Phone rang at 9.44PM 29 March 2018. No-one there when I answered. Have received many calls from this number in the past.

Caller claimed they were from do not call list and demanded credit card payment details to keep our name on the list. Caller became very rude and aggressive when they weren't given any card details. This is an outrageous scam.

I didn't answer the call, I let the call run out and call 101 to check the number and there was no message left which usually what happens with a scam call.

He claimed he was from Telstra and the "Do not Call " register and he claimed our registration was due. Err, I thought that was free so I told him it was all a load of BS and hung up.
The phone number (03) 9021 2492 he gave us when called was just a humming noise on the line.
