These guys have called at least 5 times in recent months. Today I asked for a phone number and where he was calling from and surprise surprise I was told exactly the same as all you others!! Same phone number and calling from Melbourne. Can anything be done about this?

First call from them was 3 days ago. The 3 second delay was followed by a foreign voice with the speil. I asked the caller what made her think that I had microsoft & she answered that it was showing on her screen and that my computer had problems. I said that this was a scam, which was emphatically denied. When I asked how I could have these microsoft problems if I don't have microsoft, she replied there must be an error in the system & hung up. Surprised to get another call yesterday from them. When I said I didn't have microsoft , she asked if I had an Apple. Told her I wasn't going to answer questions from a scammer so she abruptly hung up. Today another call! Twice I asked her was it microsft she worked for -yes both times. Was she in Australia? yes. Where? Pardon? Where, Sydney? Melbourne? She said Melbourne, and asked if I was in front of the computer. I said no, but if she would give me their number I would ring them back. When she gave a number so readily, I knew that (03) 9018 7738 must be part of the scam. By giving an oz number some people will be tricked into thinking they are genuine. What does one do?

An elderly friend of mine was conned into believing these people (Gamela Developments) were for real and gave them bank card details and they were also able to hack into her Verified by Visa and change the username and password.  They also remotely accessed her computer by saying if she didn't let them update her firewall she would be attacked by terrorists!  Have spent today on a damage limitation exercise!

OMG I've been had! about three months ago, I had a call from this number. Indian lady called Evelyn. she informed me that their company "support @ happysoftware.com" at Albert Park, South Melbourne had noted that my computer was showing several malfunctions and that her company was now able to correct the problems. Next thing I know, I've provided too much informationa nd they are remotely working on my computer. I told them that I already had virus protection but she informed me that this could not correct these problems. I must have been totally stupid but i was sucked in and ended up making a payment as she assured me that her company would provide total protection for the computer including a tech contacting me if there were any problems. I haven't heard of them since and became suspicious, googled the telephone number she gave and to my horror, realised I've been caught by a scam

Also got a similar call tonight, the caller claimed that they are from the Microsoft technical department. And they said that my computer was downloading something from the internet that could damage the windows system if not being cleaned up, they also claim that I have to subscribe their maintenance plan in order to have their technical department doing something over the net, to clean up my system, a bunch of non-sense.Dun trust them !! Microsoft would never pick up the phone and rang you in the middle of the night to ask for subscription.
