It was a recorded message from a machine (sounded like computer text to speech) informing me that is the ATO and that legal action will be taken if I do not call back the number. This is obviously a scam

Just had a call and did not answer it. Received a computer generated voice mail threatening an arrest warrant will be issued if I don't call back. ATO scam.

Same as above but they are also calling from (03) 9015 4739 - automated voice threatening to arrest if you don't call back

ATO SCAM

Same as above. Sounded like a computer text to speech message warning me about ATO action. I received a second call 5 hours later saying that action will be taking if I do not call back immediately. Definitely sounds like a scam.

Recorded messaged saying internet was about to be disconnected due to faulty router. Press one to speak to provider... no one there. Scam . Hang up

My wife got a call from this number she hung up. So I called of my phone. They said that it was eBay and my wife purchased something and the payment will com out tonight. He wanted me to download team viewer quick support. eBay will not ask you to do this. Bloody scammers.

I received an automated call said to be from the ATO at (03) 9015 9538 stating that a lawsuit was pending and providing a number.
returned the call, got a foreign gentlemen on the phone answering as the ATO, yet he would not reply to my question re: what it was regarding and hung up multiple times. Blocked phone number....could be great if someone could pounce on these leaches.

Thanks for this. This is reassuring. Had similar message yesterday, not stating it was from ATO, but acting as a debt collector, and stating that legal action would be taken against me immediately if I failed to contact said number.

Same with me. Twice today (5 September). An automated voice that claims to be from the ATO, and that if I do not return the call, "an arrest warrant will be issued in my name". I take that as a threat, and have reported this through to the ACCC Scamwatch webdite.

Caller: 'tax department'

SCAM. I was left a voice mail saying someone was filing a law suit against me and that if I did not return the call I would be arrested. I called the number and they answered saying they were the tax department and said they would not release info about my call until I provided my personal details. I said they needed to verify who they were before I would tell them any information about myself, and they hung up on me.
