They say they are Telsta. They are NOT

We have just had the same call today 4th October,2016. The caller telling us he is from Telstra and his name is Steve Johnson. We are an Electrical business and work for Telstra. I asked him for the Telephone Number and he gave (03) 9013 6534. I then checked up with the Telstra Business Hot Line on 132000 and they informed me that the caller and the number is not from Telstra and told us to inform the Police

Say they are Telstra technical department. Rob you blind

Was called today, they said they're from Telstra and that my internet is infected and that they'll help me. They said its a virus from Malaysia. I asked for their phone number and employer ID. The phone number is (03) 9013 6534, employer ID is 652890.

Yeah a call from "Janet Wilson" for me, claimed to be from Telstra tech support. Got very irritated when i told them i want to reverify their employee ID with Telstra, so figured must be illegitimate.

24.3.2017 Got a call from (03) 9013 6534. Caller identified himself as Harry (Dang) from Telstra Tech Support. Wanted me to access my PC so he could step me through clearing a virus. Told me there were a lot of scammers out there! Asked for his number so I could call back when convenient, he gave it willingly. BUT 2 hours later he rang back very irate that I had not returned his call. (as if..) This is not the first call of this type. BEWARE of these callers, do not allow them any access. Hang up

This scammer is still active! Reported the number to ACCC scamwatch site tonight. Hang up on them if they call.

Telstra called again about hackers on my internet. Said his name was Chris James with a very Indian accent. Even gave me an employee number. Strung him along for at least 15 minutes till I got real bored

Just happened the same to me right now. This lady called my mobile and said she was calling from Telstra Tech Dept because someone was trying to hack my computer - to do illegal things with your computer ok? She had a strong Indian accent and the same language structure I experienced with many calls from call centers in India. She insisted a lot I should go to my pc to fix this issue and when I asked a Telstra phone number to verify that wasn't a scam she gave me the number, saying I should call and ask for her name (Jennifer Wilson - another alert rang). As it sounded like a scam, I made a search on (03) 9013 6534 and here I am. Not sure what this number is, but I am not going to call it.

We were lucky enough to have James Watson call us and let me tell you he didn't sound like a James Watson. He wanted all of our security details, what do they think we came down in the last shower?

Work in IT, had a client receive a call from a number (011 number) explaining someone is trying to hack their internet and that they were Telstra trying to help. Left a number to call back on which was (03) 9013 6534, name Austin Parker. My client was almost convinced.

Told them to hang up and if they call back, threaten to get authorities.

Received a call from this number on 17 Jan 2017. Said they are Telstra and our account had been hacked, requested we run some info on our computers to verify. DO NOT DO THIS.

Said he was from Telstra and was here to help me resolve my internet problems.
Someone has apparently been trying to hack my internet. I knew it was a scam immediately and told him that Telstra wasn't my provider - "doesn't matter" he said "Telstra controls it all" and he was only here to help!! He then wanted to start the scam process which required me to be at my computer. I asked for a number to verify his story and he gave me this one. He was desperate for me to stay on the line whilst I called on my mobile - probably wanted that number also.
I wished him "Bad Karma" in his future for trying to SCAM people and hung up.

Third call claiming they are Telstra and painting a dim picture of how compromised my internet is. I asked for a number so I could call to verify and she happily gave me this one.

Says his name is James Dawson and gives a Telstra ID number. Interesting name for a person calling from the subcontinent
