When answering machine answers caller hangs up. Possible charity.

I called this number back (03) 9008 6144 and it was a voice recorded message for the Heart & Diabetes Institute probably looking for donations.
I have been on the Do Not Call Register for a couple of years but I still receive a lot of marketing phone calls! Very frustrating!!!!

I agree! Very frustrating - but unfortunately, charities are exempt from the "Do Not Call" register!
Charities are frequently the worst offenders - the more you give, the more they want and the more persistent they become!

I got a missed call from this number, it was irritating because the number didn't ring for very long so they didn't give me a chance to answer it. Probably a charity because I get harangued by them all time.

Agree - super annoying - but ACMA/DNCR state they can't stop charity calls - that's why they call from numerous numbers 'on the behalf of...XYZ' - infuriating!

Filled out diabetes and high bp survey on net and since have been plagued by this number.Originally Aussie male voice saying collecting donations for Baker Institute.Since declining I am repeatedly called by this number, often hangups on message service but a couple of times Asian with extremely poor English and chattering and laughter on the other end. I have emailed Baker Institute over a week ago complaining but did not receive the courtesy of a reply.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me.They have called me at least 6 times, activate message service but never leave a message.I answered once and could hardly understand the English.I think this is a definite con.

I have blocked this number and yet they rang on another number, I told them I wasn't interested and today I got a call from another number which I suspect is from them and when I answered after a short time a voice said "goodbye" and hung up.

I cannot get rid of calls and messages from Diabetes/Baker Institute after answering a survey about diabetes and high b.p. Never answer that sort of thing again. They only wanted money and keep asking.

Six attempts to call me yesterday on my mobile - I have their number blocked and today they have attempted twice to call me - its getting so frustraiting don't know what to do.

These people have attempted to ring me six times today - the number is on my auto reject list on my cell. They then have the nerve to attempt to leave a voice mail message on my messagebank but there is nothing there.

Just had a phone call from this number. Son said why did you not answer it and I said its a scam call so did not answer
