I received a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft Service Centre and that my computer files had been corrupted. I was suspicious and asked for a number to call them back on. I hung up and googled Microsoft Service Centre to find that this a well known scam. What do I do?

I received a call from this number, the guy said he is calling from vodafone, ask me that have I called to some Asian countries, I said no. Then he ask me to confirm phone no. and account number. I said that can't confirm with you, i don't knows who you are. Then he hung up. Forgot to mentioned, this guy's speaking with Indian accent and very difficult to understand what he say.

Just had a call at 8pm in the evening. I also thought it was suspicious. Asked if I could call back at a better time. He gave me that same phone number and said his name was Jack Davis.I said "how do you know I have errors in Windows?" Anyway, wont be calling them back !!!

Has anybody reported this problem?

Had the same call today twice!!

Can't believe, same thing happened today as well, even they didn't change the contact number (03) 9008 4255, and contact person: Arther Carresco.
Definitely a scam, don't try their suggestion.

Over the past few days I have had numerous calls from a man called Alex Love saying he is from Windows Service Centre, and that my computer is sending him messages which proves there is malicious worms on my computer.  They sound very convincing.  He gave me this Melbourne phone number (03) 9008 4255 and told me to call it to verify where he was from.  When I called the number, a guy said Hello, my name is John.  Isaid what company is this?  He said Windows Service Centre.  Obviously they have organised this behind the scenes to try and sound convincing.  My computer technician said in no way do anything they say, it is all a SCAM.

This scam is still continuing.  Scammer asked me to run Event Viewer and see the warnings in it (btw, this is normal Windows behaviour). Gave (03) 9008 4255 as a return number. He and his supervisor had Indian accents but claimed to be calling from Victoria, Melbourne ... ha, right. Tried to get me to input a 6 digit code at sites that I'll now be reporting. Thanks for the info, "David" and "Victor".

call from caro parker claiming to be from microsoft support,and my computer was sending them error messages. i said i was busy and would call her back, thinking i wouldn't get a phone number, but was given (03) 9008 4255.

Had the same guy call me today.  His caller ID said overseas yet the number he gave me was for Melbourne, I smelt a rat and hung up on him.

Just got this call today, i left him on hold for 5 minutes, then made up a fake name. Told him to call back 5:30, this shall be interesting i have created a bogus life
