Scam , trying to make money off 3rd party insurance from motor vehicle accidents.

Calls and hangs up

yeah this is scammers because I leave in WA and receive a call latelysaying I have an insurrance claim for me involving in an accident in Lockey valley QLD,which hav no idea off.this is the number they call from (03) 9008 4231

I am hard of hearing and could not make out what the gentleman was saying.. when I asked him to wait while I put the mobile phone on "speaker phone" he hung up... I believed he did mention "Insurance".. but that's all I could make up - he is persistent; this must be his 3rd call. Attempts to return his call go to an answer phone message and eventually to a "mailbox full" message. (All just like many reports from others above) How do we stop this gross invasion of privacy??

Just called and asked about my accident which I never had. Have blocked the number now as it looks like they can be annoying.

Called the number back and it was a radio-like callback feed - for Josh Frydenberg, member for Kooyong (my electorate).

Don't worry about it for a second Maureen. It's just scam artists playing the numbers game and ringing around. I promise there is nothing to be concerned about. Myself and my folks get these sorts of calls as well, just hang up and go on with your life.

Keeps ringing throughout the day, and then when I try to call through, makes funny beeping noise.

Feeling very concerned, I had a call from this number yesterday, he said he was from Queensland Health and he asked me if I had a recent accident. I had trouble understanding what he was saying. I have been thinking about it all night and feel concerned what can happen as a result from this call

Just had another call from this number trying to scam me with bogus insurance claim. Hang up on these parasites

So sick of the missed calls today I finally answered it and as soon as he asked about potential compensation for a car accident, I said I had googled the number previously and it was a scam call and he hung up. Wish the government could do something to stop these nuisance calls

Yea this number calls me several times a day then hangs up

I refuse to answer any call on my phone that is not one of my contacts. Then I use reverse Australia to look up the number. If it's a scam I block the number. Only problem is they will then call you from different numbers in different states.

Careful, same story however the guy had my name from somewhere regarding an accident I "have" had ...

definitely a scam, had told me my son was just involved in a car accident.....

So if it's a scam, what is it? Does anyone know?
