Undoubtedly a scammer. Caller left a message about a $199 iTunes gift card and wanting me to call a number if I wanted to cancel the order. Number now blocked.

Caller: (03) 9005 7528 Was a scam as described above. Claimed to be from Ebay. Told me my account had been hacked, that I had purchased a $199 Itunes Gift Card using my business email account. When they asked to use 'team viewer' to access my phone to 'reset my account' I hung up on them.

Caller: Allegedly from eBay Originally had a prerecorded message asking me to call a number regarding a rejected payment. American accent and rapid speech too hard to understand. I called back and spoke with “Peter” who I’m pretty sure was in Pakistan somewhere. Long story short got the same crap about (and I quote) “a scammer” setting up an eBay account to purchase an iTunes gift card. Originally said it was for $199 then mid-chat changed that to $299 upon questioning. Unfortunately for this idiot, I was an investigative journalist for 20 years so I had time on my hands and thought I’d play with him for a while. He kept trying to ask me questions by interrupting mine, so I did my best ACA reporter impersonation and strung him along for about 10 minutes. Eventually ended the call and blocked the number.
