Automated call - started talking before I even picked up - a reference to "you don't want a police officer to turn up on your door" - call back now! lol
Checked here then blocked the number!

Yes they say that it is from ATO, but seriously? It is so simple and obvious to see that it is a scam. So supposedly they are calling from ATO in Australia and there is an indian doing the costumer service?
I laugh every time I hear them saying ATO with an indian accent.

I pretended I believed them and then when I got to giving them my credit card number and asked for my bank i said my bank was "F*ck you you scamming piece of sh*t" to which i was met with a barrage of abuse every filthy swear word you can imagine was yelled at me.

It was surely a scam, when i called back, an indian guy who couldnt even pronunce properly was talking to me about ATO Refunds. I said its a wrong number and he says sorry LOL

Supposedly the ATO 'Crimes and investigation' department - yeah f*ckin right.

Claims they are from the ATO and was asking for my bank card number and/or job card to issue a tax refund.

Person speaking I could not even clearly understand, maybe due to the software used to disguise voice.
He ended the call after I kept saying I don't understand several times. So whatever the message or whoever he was, trying to deliver, didn't get far on this particular time.

Caller: Indian male voice, struggling with English

Said he was from the Australian Tax Office, Crime and Investigation office. I asked where he was calling from, he wouldn't say. He put me on hold and I hung up and blocked the number.

Just received a call from this number claiming to be the Tax office so I hung up.

tax refund scam

Got a missed call and called them back. Asked who they were and the guy mumbled something so fast I couldn't get it. started scrambling to figure out who I was and I hung up. Clearly a scam.

Got the same call just then 3 times :(

Says they are from the Tax Refund office of the ATO. ATO DOES NOT cold call like that. Definitely a scam.

Definitely a scam as it is probably the funniest voicemail I have ever had. The person who recorded it definitely didn't speak English as their 1st language as the robotic voice stumbles badly.

Claims that it's the ATO... i'd say it's a scam
