Caller: My landlord owns this company

I have just discovered that my landlord, who has stolen more than $8000 from us causing us to have 5 days to be evicted, owns this company. I have now applied for an urgent hearing at VCAT to provide this and other evidence regarding all of the companies he has opened and closed as provided on the Whirlpool website. Simply research the name Narayan Rathi and you will see what I am referring to. Report this number to the ACCC or to the Telecommunications Ombudsman.

I have been getting calls from these numbers every day for the last year and a bit. I just asnwered one from (03) 9001 5893 and hung up as soon as I heard her say Telstra. I have also received a call from the following numbers:

(03) 9827 1219
(03) 9982 8889
(03) 9001 5894
(03) 9001 5888

And before those, all calling from an unknown number.

I have also asked repeatedly to remove us from their list. Told them that they must have the wrong number, that they are calling a phone number that is not listed (it's a voip number too). They ask for the business owner of a department within our organisation that is not actually a business. Very much sick of these calls and I wish I knew a way I could block all these numbers.

Hey just rang telstra and they said they have had so many people complain about this number (03) 9001 5829 so i blocked them and all there 4 different numbers .... everyone block them that way telstra can do something about it .. and also i have tried to ring them and i get nothing no ringing just silence ....

Just go another call from this number - Again & again these people call and each time I tell them I don't have a Telstra land line because they are call my Skpe number.(I have a wireless Internet account and have an Internet phone number - so they are only guessing that I have a Telstra land line). The same number called me yesterday and today - I asked them to remove my phone number from their list... see what happens.

A man's voice called up and said he was calling about my Telstra land line account.
He hung up quickly when I said you just called my Skpe phone number and I have no land line as its all via internet.... define scam!

These people are actuall TouchTel and also go by a few other names.

They cann saying that they are the "wholesale department of telstra", then they clarify with "we are the wholesale department on the telstra network", two more attempts and they finally say they are from TouchTel.

its been the same script for the last two years.

Annoying! Answered 2 calls and all I get is a recording saying "Goodbye" :((((

I received a phone call from this number today. The bloke started to ask for another business & then changed midsentance to ask for my business. When I said yes, very dubiously, he hung up. Definitely worth investigating as they are clearly trying to scam someone.

Had a call today as well, Wasn't sure on who it was now I'm, sure it's Simplytel who is peopletell

Very rude. Major complaint about this number.Maybe a telemarketer? Less I hear from 'em the better

Are you kidding its probably you calling from that number and with that attitude you wonder why people like me get the number blocked so we don't have to be abused or get hung up on 4 times a day wake up to yourself ...definatly not a customer

i keep getting ph calls from this number and there seems to be no real reason for the call simply to annoy the heck out of me.well done mystery caller Karma is a biarch.

I quess Telstra "accidentally" shared our information with criminal orginaizations.

Have had a few calls from this number. Usually they get the giggle about my name and usually sound like they are stoned. They always call my business numbers which are VOIP and obviously so. They are either touting Telstra or touting to move one away from Telstra. They still press on when they are advised the number they have called is a VOIP number and that it has no relationship whatsoever with Telstra (the copper is on a contract elsewhere). I ask them to remove me from their list to save their time, but they still average >10 calls per year in bursts of a few per month.Inefficient sales mill, whoever they are. Owners or organisers of the telemarketing effort for ththat company need to take a close look at their business operation, or like most cowboys, they will end up with nothing but debt and perhaps incarceration.

I got a call from them this afternoon (Melbourne, Australia) - they (or their automated system more like it) rang three time in 20 minutes.  Once I answered the line connected and they asked for me by name. I queried who they were and the guy said SimplyTel (presumably http://simplytel.com.au/contact.html).  I asked him where he got my details and he said Telstra gave them to him and asked about my Telstra line.  I haven't been with Telstra for years and my number is unlisted.  Anyone who buys anything from a telemarketer (who cant be verified in any way!) needs their head checked.  We need more than a do not call listing - It should be illegal to telemarket fullstop. Australian Government are you listening and who are you protecting here?
