Caller: ARL Collections Debt colletion service for PAYPAL. You need to provide them your details so that they can inform you about the debt. It is legitimate - however, if you don't feel comfortable then just call them yourself.

Caller: ARL This number is actually not a scam call. They are debt collectors which PayPal use to collect debt. My PayPal was hacked and they managed to purchase a gift card with the value of $100 . I hardly use PayPal and wasn't aware. My PayPal is connected to my bank account so when PayPal went to take payment from my account which didn't have the funds in it. My PayPal balance then went to -$100. I didn't bring the balance back up because I wasn't aware, because of this I ended up receiving a call from this debt collection agency.

Caller: “PayPal” Phone rang, I answered call, immediately heard a “ringing” sound like I was making the call. Lady asked “is this X” (my nickname not even my legal name). I asked who was calling, she said “my name is Y and I’m calling about PayPal…”
I immediately just said “I’m not interested, thanks” and hung up
I have been receiving scam text messages for months about this. While I have a PayPal account, I have never once used it, there is no balance on it or outstanding (I logged into my account a while ago after I received more and more texts about it, just to be sure)
SCAM!! Do not fall for this!

Left voice mail stating they were calling from ARL. Indian accent. I have received text messages previously. Obvious scam.

Caller: Scammer PayPal This scam sounded the most legit the lady spoke with no accents and seemed genuine and said please contact us at our head department ect. I said I’d contact PayPal directly if there was an issue. Still tried to get me to authenticate my identity which was a massive red flag. Never give any contact details to a random caller. Reported to scam watch
