Caller type: Nuisance call
Location: Australia
Caller: Australian Research Centre

This girl with an Aussie accent called saying she is calling from an "Australian Research Centre" and wanted to ask me a few questions on the cost of living impacting my life. I said I cannot participate the survey, she didn't care, went ahead and asked what my income bracket is, like I didn't say anything. I repeated again, she ignored me and kept asking how much income I get (!). I told her to remove me from the list, she just kept asking me the question. I had to hang up. Not sure if that was a robot or not.

Missed the call, tried calling back straight away and got a message “this number is not in service”
Scam I’m guessing.

Called me at 6.30pm on a public holiday - no message left. 100% guaranteed to be fishing for active numbers/people willing to answer unknown calls to onsell to active scammers. Anyone who doesn't know, 03-88xx-xxxx numbers are •always• SIP numbers. "Real" Australian landlines with an 03 prefix all start "03-9xxx-xxxx". You will never be able to trace the caller's identity unless they're silly enough to use a number previously assigned by an ISP to a legitimate business, and then your "result" is going to be a red herring.

Just refuse to answer calls not in your contacts (maybe unless you are job hunting), and tell your family to call twice within two minutes if they really need to speak with you - that breaks through DND settings anyway.

Rang my mobile 7pm at night. Was a recorded message with a female speaking, but I was so annoyed as I had to run to my phone to answer the call that I just hung up. Please someone stop these calls.
