SCAMMER posing as TELSTRA. I was called from number (03) 8747 3290 at 10:13 AM Qld time on 13 March 2026 on my mobile.
The number came up from Sunbury! Coming via a Scammer using a Symbio Networks provided number.
When I answered and said Hello, who is calling, the caller hung up. I also tried calling the caller back with my number blocked and got a recorded message "The number you have called is not available from this service, please check the number and try again......."


So why am I calling this phone number a TELSTRA Scam - because of the next call I received 2 hours later. Read below if you wish......

Well, the recorded message above is exactly the same recorded message as in a second call 2 hours later from another 03 8747 prefix . I identified this also as another attempted scam call wherein I actually spoke to the scammer.

I Answered this second call and asked who was calling, the caller said he was "Joseph calling from Telstra, am I speaking to Mr (my surname)". My surname was correct! I was startled with this, but I did not acknowledge who I was.

I said I would have to call him back through their main number, if he could provide me with the MAIN Telstra number and his extension. He said the number was on my screen. I.e the number he called from. I asked for his extension again and he simply hung up instead.

I tried to call back the number who called me being (03) 8747 3044 which registered also from Sunbury locality at 12:10 PM qld time 13 March 2026. I called back with my number blocked. Rather than hearing TELSTRA, I again get that recorded message "The number you have called is not available from this service, please check the number and try again......."
Therefore, I identify this number also as a definite scam possibly posing as Telstra
