Not spam. Legitimate ANZ banking centre phone number for compromised ANZ credit cards.

I was attempting to purchase software from an overseas website and the bank blocked payment on my valid Visa card. Initially annoyed, but upon reflection, very happy to see ANZ monitoring my card activity in real time!

This is a legitimate ANZ number.

Received an SMS message stating that there was unusual activity on my credit card and it had been blocked and to call this number. A lady with a foreign accent answered and told her I thought it might be a scam. She told me to ring the number on the back of my card and get transferred to fraud detection. Someone had gone on an online spending spree. It was 4am in the morning but I was happy that they had picked it up.

Got a few messages from ANZ saying my card has been compromised as some transactions were made from my card, Reply 1 if I authorized them or 2 if No. I replied 2 and got a message someone from the bank will call me regarding this. Which I got about 15 minutes later. A woman with an accent pronounced my name in a strange way and called me by my 4 names which the bank never does. She asked to confirm if all these transactions were authorized one by one, and I said no, no, and said I didn't authorize anything today, so I don't need you to list them one by one. Actually, that is a debit card on which I keep no money except a few bucks, and use it only when doing certain payments. I saw 2 transactions I didn't authorize for $1.53 each. Obviously, they tested the card for small amounts as the bigger amounts, $75, and 90$ were declined as I had nothing kept on that card. She asked when was the last time I authorized the card and I said I don't remember. She said they blocked the card and will need to reissue me a new card, but I need to identify each transaction done first. I said, if the card is blocked, just issue me a new one, I don't need to identify each transaction. I asked for her bank number and I will call her back after checking these transactions first, and she gave me obviously this number here but starting with +61 3 then 8654 9991. When it's from the bank in Australia, they don't use +61, unless from overseas. Guess what, I went to Woolies, put 10 bucks on the card, and purchased and the card worked. So the card was not blocked. She was a scammer, who said she will give me a callback, so I'm waiting for her now, I'm ready to abuse the hell out of her. I told my story so you know how their scam you. This number here she gave me is legit but she is not from ANZ herself. Since 2 transactions of $1.53 went through, I will have to get the card replaced still. Glad I didn't have big cash kept on that card.

Scam!!!!!!!!!!! They claimed that there was fraudulent activity on my card but I don't (and never have) had an account with ANZ.

If you have any concerns with your account please call the bank using the phone number on the back of your credit card.

Remember that ANZ will never send you an email asking for your account details, financial details, or your log in details for ANZ Phone Banking, ANZ Mobile Banking or ANZ Internet Banking.

I don't think this number actually belongs to the ANZ. Prior to receiving the missed call I received a a text message about fraudulent activity on my credit card. I don't actually have an account with ANZ.

If you do have an account with ANZ and are concerned that there may be fraudulent activity I would strongly suggest that you ring the ANZ number on the reverse side of your card or visit a branch office in person.

Login to your credit card online... does it have zero available funds, even though you're not near your limit?

Legit from ANZ. Thought it was a spam number at first, but then my card got blocked on report of suspicious activity (even though it was me), so this number is legit.

This is legit. I received an SMS saying my credit card had been blocked. I rang the number but the person that answered sounded out of breath like she'd run to the phone. It didn't sound like ANZ so I hung up. Anyway my card was blocked so rang a different number and had it unblocked. Our winery spending spree set off alarm bells. I think they must use an agency for fraud detection so you don't get the usual ANZ call centre.
