Agree totally I no longer answer

Seems to be a scam I think, says from Melbourne IT. Be carefull and check credentials...I have probably been ripped off.

This number has called me twice, don't leave messages.

Received a phone call from this number. The caller left no voice message.

Lots of hang up messages on my phone from this number. It all makes sense now. Would have thought MelbourneIT would be a bit more vigilant given IT is their core business.

I have also had many calls re this and advising if I paid for the full year I would save one dollar a month!They seemed to have my credit card details (well the last four digits anyway) but they wanted the whole number which I refused. I called Melbourne IT who really didnt seem to care and said it was probably one of their sales team. I advised that they should probably investigate this, gave them the number and said if it is a scam to at least contact all of their clients. But the guy was totally not interested and said it was probably one of their people. With so many external hackers getting into systems (ie Linkedin, Roses only etc) you would think they (Melbourne IT) would be more receptive.

They tried me again but this time from an unknown number. I said 'no, I'm not giving you my credit card details because I've heard this is a scam. He said 'oh, okay, that's fair enough!' And I just hung up.

I'm surprised Melbourne IT haven't put out a warning that this is happening.

To whom it may concernYesterday my husband received several calls at work from someone claiming to be from Melbourne IT. He gave them my mobile number but I missed the call. I called back the number of the missed call (03) 8652 1408) yesterday and although it sounded like a call centre I wasn't convinced they were from Melbourne IT as there was a delay as if calling from off-shore and they didn?t seem to know what it was about, so I said I would leave it and hopefully someone would call me back if it was important. I got another call today regarding a special deal for renewal of my domain name as long as I paid on the spot, and they wanted the last 4 digits of my credit card and the expiry date. They were quite pushy although I said I didn?t feel happy about giving my credit card details out over the phone. I googled the phone number and see several other comments similar to mine on whocallsme.com so have just rung Melbourne IT (who reminded me that I am now with someone else for my domain name anyway!) and the calls were not from them as renewals are automatic and they usually email with special offers. I hope someone can do something to prevent others from being tricked into giving out their credit card details over the phone.Kind regardsJulie Robinson
