This number called me yesterday. I did not answer. Today, my debit card had two EFTPOS DEBIT transactions from MELBOURNE. I am from WA and did not make these purchases. I have reported to NAB. This number is a scammer trying to verify identity details. Never answer and make sure you block your cards!!!

I didn't answer because driving. Later checked that number on this site. Thanks for listing them and saving me the anxiety of wondering if it was the Lotto guy calling me about a big win.

Caller: ENGINE - Government Research for Tourism

Not a robot but it does sound like it when you first pick up because the person is reading off a script. Lady was nice, just doing her job and told me the survey would take 4 or less minutes. None of the questions were personal in form of getting any ID info off you nor were they in anyway questions that might be to use against you, the only question I didn’t feel comfortable with is asking the household total income but that’s a given question when they survey why you haven’t or have taken trips out of Australia or within (as a demographic) no harm helping someone do their job, you’re only wasting 4 minutes of your time which let’s face it you’d do more off on social media scrolling :)

They tried me a number of times and I picked up today. They said they were calling on behalf of the Australian government and were conducting research. They said it would take 2-3 minutes. I said now was not convenient. They asked if they could call back another time. I politely said I wasn't interested in contributing if that's okay. The guy said "Okay, well I will mark you down as wanting to be called back at a different time" and hung up on me!

Market research company. I didn’t pick up but called back to get the name. Says if you don’t wish to be called leave your number and they will remove you from their list.

May be as others say… research… but I think if genuine would leave voicemail so recipients of call be willing to answer

Phone intercepted call as "potential spam called" and aborted it before I could answer it.

17:30 a call on my mobile, an unknown number to me, I let call go through to my voicemail, no message was left ! After reading commebts on this site I have blocked the number !

This number called my mobile Sat 10:27am Perth time. I didn’t answer as number not familiar. They didn’t leave voicemail. Text: “You missed a call but the caller didn’t leave a message.”
