They have called me three times today. No message left, when I call back they say agents are busy - but no company name

Sales call trying to get me to switch my electricity to them. Poor call connection, rude sales person

I did call back this number. It was AGL. I already have both electricity and gas with AGL, so they could not offer anything. They asked me if I have other properties where I have gas and/or electricity, so if I make them with AGL too, then I can get some bonus.

Been with AGL gas. They now try to convince me to move over my electricity account to them as well, offering a gift of $50. Very persistent and would not accept NO for an answer, in the end had to hang up. Then 2 days later another person rang on that same phone number doing the same spiel. Would not accept NO and I have to hang up again to stop the call. Blocked that number since. Very bad marketing approach with no respect for their customers.

I guess the call was legitimate. he provided his agl.com.au email address for the confirmation, also went through with the bill & advised the AGL's current offer etc.
So, the others may be received call from scammers who mask the number to the legitimate one.

Received call from this number today, accepted it but I did not speak, nor did whoever made the call, then after 30 seconds of silence the call ended. 30 seconds of my life that I will not get back thanks to yet another scam, scum, idiot. It would be great if the Government made a law against these & all other people like them.

I believe these clowns to be scammers. Dont call the number and stay on hold they will rerouite to an expensive Overseas number and Optus and telstra are happy to charge you $1000s knowing full well of the scam.

Constantly calls, often hangs up before I can answer phone and never leaves messages

Said she was my AGL account manager. She knew my name and suggested I was on an "Everyday saver" status and quickly checked my rates and said she could elevate me to " Super saver" as I will be better off....Alarm bells....offered $50 initial bonus saving, then another $50 to switch energy to AGL. I told her I would ring AGL if I ever wanted to discuss pricing. She insisted I was talking to AGL now. I thanked her and hung up.

Did not leave a message. Called back and message says 'Thank you for calling Charity Fundraising Specialist'

It is interesting that every marketing call I receive in Vic comes from 02 area code.

This number calls twice a day, morning and afternoon but hangs up and does not leave a message.

Claimed to be from AGL trying to sell me on a new gas plan. Hung up on me when I said I wasn't interested.

Called me to tell me I was eligible to get $25 off my bill for the next 8 months totalling $200. I said “That’s great go for it!” Then she wanted me to give her my details to confirm my identity, she already knew my name by the way. I said “No way I’m disclosing my information over the phone to a stranger, I’ll look up the offer on your website and call you back on your real number if I’m interested”. She said “ok, thank you for your time, good bye”. Totally didn’t waste my time trying to hook me any further. She may be a scammer but I must say, she was a very polite scammer.
