Phones every other day & disconnects if not answered. Indian Call Centre when I do answer. Also use numbers (03) 8609 0068, (03) 8609 0081, (03) 8609 0089. They pretend to have household details so can be personal & friendly but they get aggressive if you don't know the name they ask for. Appears to be a scam based around website development & domain name ownership ????

Scammers. Getting at least 2-4 times a week from different numbers. Blocking all unknown numbers and they keep coming.

Caller: An Indian accented lady

Rang me asking for my first name. Wanting to speak to me about my domain that is no longer active. After explaining that is no longer my business, she asked if I have other businesses. Told her not interested and I hung up. Been getting a lot of emails too regarding getting to the first page of google search. Not sure if they are all related.

Getting dozens of calls a week from this and many almost identical numbers. Always call after lunch and at night, so most likely Indian Scammers. Tried calling this one back but is a disconnected number. After investigating, the number is clearly a fake caller ID registered to now defunct company NZ 3 PTY LIMITED.

The usual, an Indian-accented caller asks for me by my first name (the version I used when I registered a web domain years ago). I always say, no you have the wrong number.
Interestingly, I've started telling them this number is on the national do-not-call-register (which it is) and they're supposed to check my number against the register before calling. When I tell them this they usually hang up. Don't know if it's the same ones calling back who I told this to, I get a lot of these calls unfortunately.
If you're being badly pestered you can block ALL calls not on your contacts list on a smartphone, and that stopped them after a few weeks. You can find devices online that you can buy to protect a landline the same way too. Failing that, message bank or an old-fashioned answering machine stops almost all of them too.

Yes, that would be right. All the worst most aggressive email spam, and all the scam callers I get, use the details I used to register a web domain years ago. Been regretting it ever since. That's a well-known source for them to get your contacts, and why so many of them claim they want to make a website for you. If you register a domain you MUST pay extra for the privacy option! And create a special email just for that purpose, don't use your every day address. Ideally a whole new phone number too, just get a $2 sim if you need to be contacted for it at all
