Basically, this number has been calling me and using my un-abbreviated first name, but our number is in my wife's (different) surname.

Thus they don't know me personally. So, the only place I can think off that has both these pieces of information is in a Domain Name registration.

Indian ringing from this number tells me they are in Melbourne, but if you ring back (with caller ID disabled of course) you get a message in Hindi and English saying that the person is talking to someone else etc. Guy said he had something to do with webservices and tried to give me a webaddress for them. I got the "(dot)com(dot)au" part but the rest I couldn't understand even after asking him to repeat it 3 or 4 times! In the end I said "I can't understand you, and if you can't speak in an English/Australian accent I don't even wish to try to understand you (they probably think Australians are so racist BUT I don't care anymore). Just hung up after telling him that if he is in Australia then you should know we have a (useless I know) Do Not Call Register (DNCR) and he should be vetting calls to ensure that he does NOT call numbers like mine... I have a business phone number but as we are a home business I'm not interested in UNSOLICITED CALLS and have been able to register with DNC. BTW the DNCR should be extended to charities and POLITICIANS as it is in the UK... tell your local MP you also want this please!

Called twice hung up when I sternly said hello. Weird scammer no doubt. Got scared and hung up lol.

They hung up when I answered. Been getting these calls since I registered a domain name over a year ago. Also use (03) 8609 0075. Both say Melbourne.

Called the business and gave no straight answer as to why they called other than 'to discuss business purposes'. Just hung up.

As soon as I answer they hang up. Spammer/scammer am sure

Caller: Couldn't understand the name - even though I asked multiple times

Wanted to sell me some webservices I suppose. Very strong Indian accent, hard to understand as he speaks very fast. I said I am not interested as I can't understand you. He got agitated and his tone went aggressive, I hung up.

Same company as others have reported - they are clearly using Domain ownership details as have setup a separate number just for this purpose - they ask for the owner of the domain registered.
