This number is a scam. The voicemail message that was left on my mobile when I missed the call said that they were from the Australian Taxation Office and I had committed tax fraud and to call them back on this number before they proceeded with legal action. They are not, I haven't and I didn't call them back. If you receive a call from this number report it to the police.

Got a call claiming to be austaralian taxation office when I called back answering machine got through one time but got disconnected within seconds

claims to be ATO but sounds suspicious and not the usual way ATO acts

I called back number (03) 8594 2238 it says the number I have dialed is not in service anymore.

They claim to be the tax office and they are not. I said I was David from the ATO and they hung up.
I blocked my number and I call then every few minutes. I think they are getting annoyed :)

Asian man purporting to call from ATO. Definite scam. Don't call them back.
