Aussie lady with a hard sell on donating to for a child protection agency. One of the more genuine sounding callers but without joking sounded suspect as she sounded like she was almost crying when describing the children, then went straight to a "So shall I put you down for a $100" in a straight voice

Unknown number. Rang 3 times and hung up. No vmail left. Always suspicious. I just blacklist it so they can't annoy me again. Parasites of society.

Love this site. Funny how a number can call my mobile, but when I call them from my work phone, 'sorry but the number is not in service'. However will I help those poor kids now?

Caller: Claimed to be from agency supporting child abuse victims

Persistent telemarketer, seeking donations for (apparently) an agency supporting child abuse victims. Hard sell to donate. The caller has a script to deal with cascading levels of "not interested" - you don't need to commit each month, you can make a one-off donation. The pushiness, and the emotionally manipulative "we need your money to save these children" angle, was a real turnoff. I hung up when the caller kept pressing.
