Same thing happened to me, hang up with voice "goodbye" when I pick up the phone

My phone said it was from Clayton. I don't get calls, nor am I expecting any from interstate. They didn't leave a message so can't be important. Based on the other comments about this number, it will be another added to my blocked numbers list.

I called back number (03) 8572 7228 it says the number I have dialed is not in service anymore.

Called my landline. Female said she was from an Aussie anti-bullying organisation and said the call would only be short, then went into this long spiel and although I explained I was not in a position to donate, she still wanted me to donate a "small amount" of $30 or $40!! I didn't.

I had a missed call from this number. The message left is a female voice just said 'hello'.

Same happened with me. Landline then mobile. No messages left.

No attempt to speak, just hung up. My vote is scam.

Same as all of the other comments. Unrecognised number goes to voicemail and they hang-up. Blocked.

If you don't know anyone from other States just block calls by blocking 03, 07, 08. Nearly all my nuisance calls come from (03) so I just blocked any calls with 03.

More scammers..didn't even answer it..just googled the number while the phone is ringing.

Don't pickup anymore, my number has been sold, receiving 2-3 of these spam calls every day... hence starting to report on this service.. called back said they were a charity... OMG.. here we go again - how did they get my number... must be a scam.

Missed call at 4pm on a Saturday
Rang back and got message service claiming to be Next Steps Aus.

One thing to keep in mind with many of these unsolicited call centre calls is that they generally use computer equipment to dial over the internet (VOIP) and they create a fictitious phone number (simply a text string) to identify themselves. I had multiple calls from this 'number' and other numbers from the same caller.

I've also had a call purporting to be from a mobile number which actually belongs to a cattle property in QLD. That's a case of the same modus operandi.

When I answered there was a long period of silence. When I called back a recorded female voice said they were a charity group and that they would be back in touch with me soon. I hope not.
