Caller: A lady

My dad received a call from this number. Not all the details, long story short. Wanted $300 for an outstanding electricity bill for my deceased brother. Haven’t heard from them again after he told them he would get the solicitor to give them a call as he knew everything had been finalised and there were no bills outstanding !! It amazes me how they get their information 😡

I had a call from this number and while it was ringing it came up with, "Suspected Spam" so naturally I didn't answer it but started to checkout "who called".

Ever so glad I did after reading the few responses here about this number. I am the Executor of my mothers Estate.

Caller: A scammer!!! Clearn

Some guy called Shane from "Philips & Co"" wanting to speak to someone about a deceased estate. The line was really bad and he said he was calling about a client of his that had an enquiry about the estate. He then went on to ask the deceased full name and date of birth & my details. I told him that if I didnt know why he was calling and what about I was hardly going to give him any personal details. He then hung up! Probably an identity theft scam or similar.

Caller: Vultures

This company buys outstanding debts and adds interest until settled. They prey on the bereaved and won’t leave voicemails. I’m assuming to endure their intimidation tactics can’t be recorded and used against them. Do not pay them without proof of the debt and definitely get legal advice.

Caller: Claimed to be from Phillips & Cohen Associates

This is the 2nd time they have phoned (today 31 May 2023) Ist call was about 2 months prior. Said they were sending a letter about an outstanding power bill for a deceased relative. Said I would wait for the letter to arrive. Letter arrived and we (my wife and I) realised that there was nothing owed (seeing as we always paid the bills for the said relative). Well today I advised the caller (north American accent) that we ignored the letter as there was nothing owing, and that he could go and try rip off someone else, to which he said "OK" and I hung up.

Keep getting calls and letters for my fathers late estate asking for the executor .. no other info given except
By a person with a very thick accent on voicemail .. despite being told and the info being sent to solicitor that handles the will .. f…ing bloodsucking vultures

Missed call. Checked previous posts. I'm glad I didn't call straight back.

SCAMMERS POSING as Phillips & Cohen Associates Australia Pty Ltd
Left a voicemail:
"Matt from Phillips Cohen Associates please call back on 1800 457 675, please quote your reference number" which he so helpfully supplied.
Just called a number back today (08) 8448 0682 - man named (Raphi?/Rapha?) asking for my reference number, I thought it was something else so gave him a number, he said you've called the wrong business, I asked what his business was called and he wouldn't tell me and promptly hung up.

Had a call prior to all this asking after my Husband's estate from an unnamed woman. I just said he's dead, she sounded flustered and apologised...

Wanted to contact me regarding my deceased father's estate asked me to call back. When I called back a female answered and asked me to confirm his date of birth I asked what it was in relation to prior to giving her information as my father's estate was finalised. She said the original caller was on the phone and would call me back.

From Phillips and Co

The number that they gave to call back was 1 800 761 308.
It had long wait and I hang up.
It is a different phone number to that listed on Phillips and Cohen web-site.

Caller: Paul from Phillips and Co

I just received a call from this telephone number regarding an outstanding electricity account from May 2022 for $395.20 - in the name of my deceased mother!!!!
Told him to resend the account .............let's see if he does!!!!!

Caller: Didn’t answe

My father passed away a few months ago. I registered with Telstra, various banks and the government death notification website over a month ago. Don’t know how they got my number. This was just passed to a lawyer last week so unknown if he has lodged any paperwork. Beware.

He wanted to speak to the Executor of the estate of my late partner. Yes, a really bad line that kept breaking up. He said he was from Phillips & Cohen. When I ask what he was enquiring about and to speak up on a clear line, he said they'd call back at another time. There are NO outstanding matters relating to the estate - if you receive a call from them, tell them to speak with your solicitor - they'll probably hang up. A bunch of crooks. Their website is so unclear in what their real intent is - supposedly chasing outstanding debts.

Caller: Melissa Sandman when I asked her name and sais she was from Phillips & Cohen lawyers.

Wanted me to answer multiple questions as she had a claim against my mothers deceased estate and I said no I'll ask you the questions.
Asked who the 'Client' making the claim was.Wouldn't say.
I asked her name she URR UMM Melissa.Yes and your surname...urr umm Sandman.I said oh like the panel van?
Said she was from Phillips and Cohen I asked for the address which you could tell had near by wriiten down and said 1 Boulevard Southbank...I said what just 1 is that all(1 Boulevard Southbank is a building with multiple floors).the number she rang on was (03) 8566 7392....Then said she would send a letter to an address and said yeah righto see how you go....then said if I have further question to ring 1800 761 308.
