Caller: Supposedly ANZ They keep calling me claiming to be ANZ & I don't even bank with them nor have I made a credit card application. I can barely understand the accents,

This seems to be very weird. When call back an automated message comes advising that they tried calling us but if we have to call back then we have to advise in message and message is from +614 and not ANZ itself
