First, in relation to A of 8 Sept, you can insist on seeing what you are covered for. Otherwise write to the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman http://www.phio.org.au/
I am on the phone now trying to get through to Medibank in relation to a five second call I received today, where nothing was said to me. So far all I have had is a switchboard and then music and the call duration is 20 mins.
I have hung up and am trying the switch again.
The woman who answered this time says I should not have waited for more than a couple of minutes.
The fellow I am now speaking to (after a very short wait) is being very helpful. He confirms that the number does belong to Medibank Private.
I think again this is a matter for the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman http://www.phio.org.au/, and also for ADMA http://www.adma.com.au/asp/index.asp
I am told it is probably a marketing strategy, and that he and his manager will look into the matter. After a long discussion I forgot to ask for the fellow to place me on a no call list. Dammit!

It happened to me twice, the third time someone spoke to me.It's Medibank trying to sell you more cover.

Ok. So today I received a second call from Medibank, and this time they deigned to identify themselves. I told them I did not want to be contacted and the guy asked me for my details so I could be removed from their call list. I consider this an invasion of privacy. I should not have to do anything to stop being harassed by a company - they have my number from their records and I am not wanting anything other than to be released from their harassment. I do not consider it appropriate to offer my personal details to an unsolicited caller, who might in fact merely be posing as Medibank. Any further calls and my first step will be to demand they stop harassing me without my being required to provide identification details. The call after that, should one be made, will result in a trip to my lawyer to determine if proceedings can be brought against this company for their harassment.

I got call from this number (03) 8330 5100).was told " I am calling from Medibank. Do you have any questions regarding your policy?" I said "No, I am happy with my current policy" and hang up.
but it looks pretty strange how come medibank will call & ask for questions whereas when we need to speak to customer support from medibank it takes ages.
For a moment I thought this may be geniune call from medibank but could not believe it & then googled it & found thi link.
