Rang three times and did not leave a message. I live in QLD and this number appears to be from Kalkallo in Victoria. I blocked this number since they did not bother to call back or to leave a message. My message to the over the phone sales persons or promoters of any sales type is to leave a message and then I can decide to whether I would want to call back. Too much wasting my time to find out who called and specially that I am a very busy person. I receive most of those annoying calls when I am in business meetings. I tell them to buzzzzzzz off.

Every day I’m blocking calls from Victoria and local Brisbane numbers. I don’t answer numbers I don’t recognise, go to this site to check the number, see that it’s spam and then block them. However the amount of numbers they have seem endless. Anyone got any ideas if this ever ends?

Caller: SOME LADY FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE BENEFITS SHE SAID

she asked to speak to me i told her she has the wrong person then proceeded to ask to speak to me anyway...... Told her no and that i have asked previously not to call me again and to remove me from their list and that they should abide by the australian telemarketing laws and remove me as i have requested it and they have to do so as per the telemarketing rules and legislation. Says the call came from KALKALLO, VICTORIA when it came up on my phone.

No it won't end because they are not calling from Australia. I can guarantee you they are calling from a call centre in India or Africa through an Australian number to hide themselves with. We get hundreds of these calls. You can tell if you listen for a few seconds; if there is dead silence then a whole lot of noise when you say "hello" I can bet you it's an automatic dial which takes a few seconds to activate when it hears your voice. These places are set up to run like business- a SCAMMING business!! Unfortunately the Australian government can't do much without getting the government from the respective country where these calls come from to do something.
I am now suspicious of every phone number that starts with "02" or "03."

Keep getting calls from across a range of similar numbers. Most hang up almost immediately but some go on to spruik dodgy electricity contracts or other things.
The vast majority of these numbers, including various sets of 03, 08 and 02 area code numbers are being sold through a company called Symbio Networks Pty Ltd (Address: Level 4/580 George St, Sydney NSW 2000 Phone: (02) 9994 8555).

This particular set of numbers from (02) 8103 7000 to (02) 8103 7999 have been allocated by Symbio Networks to a company called Ivox Pty Ltd 1300 486 999). Ivox are a wholly owned subsidiary of Symbio Networks (surprise, surprise).

Whilst these guys are a telco company, they are obviously complicit is constantly selling phone number ranges to illegitimate scammers and spammers.

My advice. Check the website below by entering in the number. If the seller of the number bought a block of numbers like 1,000 or 10,000 these are scammers/telemarketers. A legitimate business would have a single phone number and identify the business name.

Indian telemarketing, ring 3 times hanging up every time and never leaving a message. Probably being paid (but not monitored) by number of calls per day. I used to do that years ago.😂😂😂😉

So I have minimised these calls by not buying anything on line if I can avoid it AND refusing customer loyalty cards. Australian businesses unfortunately often sell off their contact lists to anyone who wants them. Even scammers. Read the privacy policy when you buy in line or sign up for a loyalty card. Sometimes it ain’t worth the “rewards”. Tested it out recently by giving my hubby’s contact details for an online purchase at a reputable local store. He gets about 5 a day now and I get 1 a fortnight.

These spam calls are out of control. These days, I either ignored or picked up the call but do not say anything, the spammer will hang up. Still, very annoying and disruptive. I see that they had used this same number since 2018.
