Why dont they stay on the line when they ring. It times out & never leaves a message other than "You have a missed call." Maybe their autodialer only transfers an answered call to a team member, who of course never speaks very clear english, or has a serious asian, sri lancan, indian or other foreign accented person.

Caller: a marketing company

After receiving about 200 calls over 2 weeks and hanging up on them all, this time I called back and requested that my name be taken off their list. I waited on the phone until the employee confirmed with me that he had forwarded my number to his management with a request to be removed from their caller list. he said it would take 24 hours to take effect. I dont know if it will work.
