Recorded message saying I owe money to eBay. No eBay purchase has been made on my behalf and this isn’t how eBay operates, so definitely a scammer.

Received the text yesterday saying that an amount will be automatically deducted from my account because of an eBay transaction. I have watched a few scam videos but they usually say it’s Amazon. They get you to go on your computer and install teamviewer (DO NOT do this) they then take control of your computer and pretend they have accidentally refunded you $3000. They then try and bully you into returning the extra funds, using iTunes cards or sending cash.
They have just made fake transactions on your account.
I must say it’s very funny when the person they are trying to scam takes control of the scammers computer and deletes all their information.

Caller: unknown saying they were from Ebay.

A woman asked if I had placed an order for a $300.00 gift voucher from Ebay. She asked
me what I had bought from Ebay recently. She finally told me that I should go to school and learn English!
What a cheek. She has a foreign accent and sounds Indian.

She said that someone had set up an account under my phone number and name and that they had bought a $300 gift card. Asked me to log onto my bank on my phone (and was i using Android or apple), ended up hanging up on her.

Caller: Scam ebay call

Like the above comments, something about an ebay purchase of $299.99 and a few options to press a number to talk to someone ect.

Safest way to check it is to just go to ebay and check your purchase history and deal with ebay directly, they wouldn't be calling people like this. So pretty clear its a scam
