Going by a similar number that called soon after this one, and looking it up, seems it’s a scammer. The last two digits of the other number was 31. Seems they have a heap of numbers to call from. Will be blocking them all.
Whatever happened to the do not call register??

They advised they were from Amazon and I had been scammed and someone had ordered something on my account and they wanted to delete the order for me. When I checked my amazon account I could not see anything.

Caller: Scammer

After blasting me for a couple of minutes in full Indian I told her she had the wrong number thinking a scammer couldn't be that bad at their job... but I was wrong.

She wrapped up the call with her husband or whoever the poor soul was getting roasted Punjabi style on the other line and jumped back in to scammer mode. Called to say my NBN was comprimised and asked me to check the NBN box for a flashing light. I told her I was looking at it (was at work) and asked if it was the flashing green light that had been on for the last 3 years since turning it on. She told me it was, and that my NBN box was infected with Malware which is why she was calling from her Melbourne office... I acted concerned but told her the mailman was here and asked if she could hold for a second so we can get to the bottom of it. Not sure how long she sat on hold for before hanging up but even 5 minutes on hold is 5 mins she isn't trying to scam someone else.

I hope she calls again <3

Indian/ Pakistani accent. Said they were from NBN and there is a security threat from my internet connection. Asked for IP address and all sorts of questions about whether I gave my passwords to anyone or whether I clicked on some internet pop ups. Listened (and answered) probably for way too long before I hung up

I blocked. I was at work, so I answered as Hello this is <blank> from <govt department>. They hung up so fast. I doubt their legitimacy.

A very Indian guy spoke first saying he was from Amazon and that my account was compromised and I needed to reset my password. I told him I didn’t have an account. He suddenly went muffled and called his assistant to speak to me. A very Indian sounding lady then blasted me for a good few minutes on the phone telling me somebody had scammed my account to the cost of $799 and if I didn’t reset my password following a link that they were going to send me I would be liable to pay the money. I kept saying I do not have an Amazon account. She kept getting crosser and crosser and crosser. I ended up hanging up.

Caller: Said their name was Jack

As another reviewer said they knew my name and were in noisy background with a delayed response. They claimed to be from NBN and said my Internet had a lot of red flags and asked when I used it last. I told him it wasn’t a good time as I had to go to work and he told me to go to hell. The only one going to hell should be these scam artists.
