Found out who it was as they called back and spoke to someone. It's the Tasmanian Royal Guide Dogs. They get an automated machine to call you to find out what time you are likely to answer the phone, then it hangs up. A rep calls you back in a few days. Annoying....

Yes charities are exempt from the do not call register, but they are still not allowed to harras the public in looking for donations. next time they call, make sure they understand you will put in a complaint for harrassment against them as it is illegal.

I have had 3 calls a day for the last week from this number, I refuse to answer it and they never leave a message, so sick of these type of calls.

If they just stopped calling everyone automatically they could just, you know, put their phone bill towards the bloody dogs.

I've now read on other sites and this one that this number is guide dogs, a security firm, RSPCA and insurance brokers.

Sadly, charitable organisations (such as the Tasmanian Royal Guide Dogs For The Blind) are explicitly exempt from the restrictions imposed by the Do Not Call Register, and sadly some of these organisations abuse the privilege. Way to get your NPO a bad name in the eyes of the public, guys! When they call, you can ask them to be removed from their database, and they must comply. If they call again, ask to speak to their supervisor, and you should repeat the request to that person. If the caller hangs up at this point, or refuses to put their supervisor on, or if the organisation calls again after your second request to be removed, you should lodge a complaint at www.donotcall.gov.au

It's the Tasmanian Royal Guide Dogs call bot. You will get a call, usually the next day after they hang up on you, asking for money. If you call them, they claim it's not them.
Joe
I'm in North Tasmania, two call today no messages. So far we have Royal guide dogs, RSPCA and a security firm. Now i hate to sound paranoid but this smells like fishing to me and i'm betting each of you that got to talk to these people were either asked about your routine (work) and/or whether you owned a dog. Gee, information like that would be really handy if I wanted to rob someone....

I just had a call from (03) 6108 0022 that hung up just as I picked up the phone. I am on the Do Not Call register, so it is either a charity with a telemarketer with not much patience, or a scammer. I am in the Hobart area.

Hobart area, call me everyday between 5 and 7 for 3 days straight. It's daylight savings time, go outside and play, leave me alone.
Abbey
Guide dogs selling raffle tickets. Seemed legit to me, no odd questions. Joe (above comments), if you read the other comments carefully, no-one has said the dodgy security questions were from this number, and I can't see anyone but you mentioning the RSPCA. So maybe you are a little paranoid ;)People saying they don't leave a message, call centre people never do. They're instructed not to. Annoying, but that's the way it is.

im from the launceston region n have also had missed calls from this number?
