Threatening call regarding legal action for tax avoidance. I called back and asked more questions about this caller, but he hang up...the name of the person is Jim Anderson.

I received this too. A "Mark Anderson" sounded like he was reading from a script when he left a message on my phone stating if I did not call back, there would be a warrant placed for my arrest.

The same a**hole Mark Anderson rang me and said that is a tax fraud under my name and threaten me for legal action . But thanks to this forum and some sort of common sense I didn't buy it at all.

Received a threatening call on my voicemail from Mark Anderson who stated that he was from the ATO and that I had a warrant out for my arrest. I suspected that the call was not legitimate due to Mark Anderson's Indian accent. A quick Google search on the number revealed this page....and so here I am with many others who copped the same call. Bloody nuisance.

I just received the same message from this Mark Anderson, left a message saying he was the ATO and calling about tax fraud and tax avoidance. So glad I googled it before calling back. What a scammer!!

Got a message on my answering machine detailing that I was bing investigated for tax fraud and the call back number was the same. I've had calls for various scams and this is just one in a long list of them. If I'm home I just play along taking as much of their time as I can until they realise that I'm screwing with them. Boy do they get angry. At least they aren't calling someone else while I am wasting their time. Lowlife scum.

Received call threatening me from ATO with arrest.

I rang him back and spoke to him, told him that he is in deep sh*t.
Then call 10 times after, he stopped answering.

i just received exactly same call from mark Anderson tape recorder bad quality saying he was from the commonwealth ato fraud department and needed to call them urgently....the number was 59027965.
what gave it up to start with , they didn't ask for anyone they just rambled on the ato isn't so loose about who gets info they ask for the specific person they are looking for.

Same message received about tax fraud. Have a private number..hello!!!! When I advised Mark Anderson I will give my accountant his number he hung up. Total scam. Reported to ATO and police. Same number (03) 5902 7965. Beware!!

Yep, same as me and I had the same thing this time last year and it was definitely a scam then and is now - I don't think its a good idea to even acknowledge this stuff.

Also a Mark Anderson calling; asked for me by name which was disconcerting. Sounded like a recording as it 'rang out'. Threatening call regarding legal action for tax avoidance.

Stupid guy left a voice mail on my phone claiming to be Mark Anderson with a thick Indian accent (no offense) and saying I was underpaying my taxes and threatening legal action. I called the ATO and let them listen to the voice mail. ATO advised no one called me and took down the number to forward to the Feds. Asked if I was willing to be called by the police to press charges, I said Absolutely!

just had a call from Mark Anderson threatening if I didn't call back a warrant would be put out for tax fraud..hahahaha how do these people get our numbers from....
