Claimed to be from Bendigo bank saying there was a suspicious transaction on my account

Called sharing they were Bendigo Bank and that I had fraudulent activity on my account showing activity overseas. Asked if my details were correct and whatnot. Had a bit of fun updating my details on their system to fake stuff. They also asked for card details, combining money into 1 account and then sending it to a 'verified' safe location.

Please hangup and call your bank directly - do not call the same phone number that initially contacted you

He asked for me and knew my name and said he was from the bendigo bank fraud dept and I said I'm in my bank do you need to talk to them. no answer so I had this same call months ago and the Bendigo bank said if we do call we do not say we are from the fraud dept...........So I said you have called before and he said no well one of your people did my answer was not nice. So if one blocks the spoofed number you are not blocking the correct number sad

Called today saying he was from Bendigo Bank. Sounded suspicious so I hung up

Is there a possibly we can have a chat? I am not a scammer. My story is different to yours, but it falls into the same time frame.

Definitely a scam guys!! Just received a call from (03) 5485 7827 saying theres been multiple suspicious transactions but nothing was taken out of my account. If you go to the bendigo bank website on the top it says “ Scammers are impersonating the Bank and calling from (03) 5485 7872 or (03) 5485 7123. We will never call from these numbers.”

Claimed to be Bendigo bank and wanted to check suspicious activity on my account regarding flights with Singapore airlines. I said I was in Singapore and that it was me, he then asked the amounts and I waffled out before he hung up.

Definite scam but alarming they knew my last name

Phishing scammer! Claimed to be Bendigo bank and the number matched a Bendigo number. Directions were to transfer money to another account. Scammer has cleaned out a young family members account and she is devastated. Please don’t let this appalling man scam you like she was.

He said I had a problem with my accounts didn't sound legit so I hung up.

Scammer, wasted an hour and a half of his time trying bogus numbers while I played video games 🤷

Definite scam. Had the same advice provided to me from Up

Called and used my maiden name when asking to speak to me - this let off alarm bells as all my banking has been under my married name for the last 5 years. The guy was very annoyed that I didn’t trust him when he said there was suspicious activity in my account, and said if I went to my local branch instead, they would not have this information. Really unprofessional sounding!

It's been about three months since these scammers tried, again they were saying they're from Bendigo Bank (using different landline number) and that there's been unauthorised transactions on my account and they need to transfer all my money to other accounts to protect it. Quite elaborate and sophisticated; assume they're using AI voices. Asked for manager to call me back and they called back with a different name but still similar sounding male voice with English accent. They slipped up when they used pounds instead of dollars, and they referred incorrectly to Financial Transactions Act not understanding I could read that legislation while on the phone to them. Total scammer - hang up and block!

Whilst this number is listed on the Bendigo Bank website, I am with UP Bank (Bendigo) and have been advised they will never call me, so am treating this as a spoofed number. They confirmed no issues with my account.

Yes. I also had this number. I have had a scammer claiming to be Bendigo Bank.

Same thing happened to me today. Caller said there was a suspicious transaction but nothing was out of my account. The caller then tried to get me to confirm how much money I had in both spending acc and savings.
