Left a message threatening me with arrest

I also received a recorded message threatening me with arrest from the same number on the same day, 23 November 2018

Tax recorded message, the ATO do not call they put it in righting, SCAM do not call back.

Caller: Australian Taxation Office

Spam. Faking as ATO.

"You missed a call from (03) 5294 0561, who said "The last(?) suitcase(?) is getting filed under your name. The moment you receive this message I want you to get back to me on my department division no. 35294." This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you."

Seems consistent with fake threat of legal proceedings.

Oh no. If I don't call the number back, I'm going to be arrested.....Block the number.

Caller: Tax Office Scammer

My friend got a call from this number. An Indian accented man who used the age-old trap of convincing her that she owed tax and to avoid a penalty or deportation (she is relatively new to the country) she should buy $500 worth of iTunes cards and give them the details.

If I do not phone back I will be arrested.

Fake arrest warrant call. Left a message, computerized voice

Automated message saying there are 2 arrest warrants under my name- when I call the number back it just hangs up.

I believe this is a scam. Recorded voice says it is the ATO and that they are calling because a law suit has been filed under your name. This is not the way the ATO would contact you.
