been getting this call for the past 12 months and have complained to Telstra about still nothing done. if scammers were using my name I would be doing something about it.
played along with them last time they called ask them for my name and address or emails which they cant provide, they soon hang up when they know your onto them.
last caller with a very heavy indian accent said his name was peter Wilson, I said I don't think so.

Does the mere fact you answer these stupid calls allow them into your computer if you're using it now phone is also online?!

Caller: 'NBN Technical Department'

They used to be 'Telstra' now they're using 'NBN'. A supposed problem with the Internet in our area. When I asked where he was calling from, he gave me a street address in North Sydney. I pointed out that the prefix on his number placed him firmly in Victoria/Tasmania and we get dozens of scam calls like this and hung up. He called straight back but gave up when it went to the answering machine. One more for the blocked numbers list!

Enough is enough!
Claiming to be Telstra tech - before he went further I said "I don't have a computer problem" his response was (and please excuse the French, but this is word for word ........
"Have a great f#@* with your partner, mam" ..
then he hung up.
This is getting creepy now.

Caller: Scammers pretending to be Telstra Technical

Under no circumstances give any information to this caller. The call is from an overseas scammer trying to get the unwary to let them have access to your computer. This is not the only number the pretend to be calling from so do not ever respond to anybody claiming to be "from the technical department of Telstra". There's no such thing and a legitimate section of Telstra will give other information than this. If you're really unsure ask for a number to call back whereupon the scammers will just hang up. They can be very cunning - I've had them even tell me (when I've been playing them along and asked for the address from which they are calling) a correct office address for Telstra. The terrible English accent usually gives a clue.
