I got a "free", government approved power usage meter a while back but could only read total power coming into my home.
Had to put an app on my mobile phone to read the data. Readings seemed incorrect.
Disabled the app and disconnected the sensor which was located in the meter box, and which was watching the flashing LED, counting the flashes.
Ended up just putting it in the bin.
I think the original idea was legit, but there is plenty of scope for the app to be just malware.

I have blocked roughly 6 numbers from this mob, I know no one in Kyneton. I am on the do not disturb list but I’m constantly harassed. More should be done to stop these people from being able call.

Caller: Suspected spammer

After the Optus hack last week, I'm even more leery of unknown callers and numbers I don't recognize. My blocker flagged this one as 'suspected spam' and as usual with spam calls, caller hung up as soon as call transferred to voicemail. As always, I've blocked the number.
Take special care at this time with all unknown or unsolicited calls, punters, especially if you're Optus customers. These a**holes are out to get us.

Attempts to call at least twice a day. Haven’t answered yet.

Called on Monday and again today. Some energy scam, but I guess this is what I get for getting an LED upgrade.

I have had so many versions of this number calling from “Kyneton”. So I said “what scam is this now” when I answered the phone. I could hear a call centre in the background so I knew it would be dodgy. The guys response was amazing - he swore at me and proceeded to attack me. I proceeded to demand to speak to his supervisor but he continued his rant and then hung up.

Scammer posing as energy supplier, non stop calls for over a year plus now. Best thing you can do is waste their time and have a laugh as they will simply keep calling back regardless.

Also just got this call. Also from ‘kyneton’ so I didn’t answer. They didn’t leave a message but I had a voicemail. It was weird, just lots of loud voices in the background. A call centre I presume. Yet another scam! Blocked….(again). When will they develop ‘anti-scam’ software!

Caller: Useless d*ckheads.

They keep ringing asking for Ben, I keep telling them to delete my number from their database as no Ben has ever used this number.

Called me several times in the last few months. Asking if I received my free energy efficient package from the government. Given the fact that this kind of scam call has been going around for years I instantly told the woman on the end that it’s illegal to cold call someone and each number they have called me on has been reported. Yes also came up on my phone being from Kyneton Victoria.

Call centre, constantly calling, i keep blocking them, then they call from another line. When will this harassment end?????????????????

Told me they were calling from VEU they wanted to send me an energy device to surveillance my energy usage when I said no, he abused me, and said why did i pickup the phone, i said because you rang it, he then got angry and said f*k you and hung up..indian scammer

Caller sounds like an Indian offering free power monitoring device. Beware, I just hung up.

Answered but heard the call centre in the background & they called me my ‘nickname’ which was a sign it was a scam.

Absolutely SCAMMER ! Don't pick up the phone, simply BLOCKED this number !

You might have to check that your number is still on the Do not call list. It apparently expired after three years and all the numbers were free for all again.

Has continuously called since 6:08pm, I have now blocked the number. Call says it’s from Kyneton, Victoria. I’ve blocked the number.

Missed calls every day at random times of the day.
