hang up after pick up the call

Spam caller, calls, hangs up, went to call back and it goes blank

i received a call from this number with a female voice with a foreign accent asking me Is this Mr xxx? I did not answer this, asked her who she was and she said something about a "massive" rebate of $2500. to do with a new hot water service. I had alarm bells ringing loudly about this being a scammer, so did not tell her anything and hung up.

Call on home phone received today, female voice with Filipino or Indian accent asked if I was a Mr xxx. I did not answer this, and asked her who she was, and she said something about a "massive" $2500 rebate on offer for a new hot water service. I said I'm not interested and hung up. Strongly suspect this was a scam, for the following reasons:-
(1) When I answered, there was a delay before she spoke
(2) The call was unsolicited from someone with a foreign accent, who sounded like she was reading from a script.
(3) The called-from number showing in my phone is a non-existent number (03) 4252 8616 - all 03 numbers are 035 (country Victoria), 036 (Tasmania), and 038 & 039 (Melbourne), no 034 ones.
(4) I tried to call this number twice, got nothing tone both times.
(5) My home number is a silent, unlisted one.

Scam caller spoke with foreign accent phishing for personal details

Received phone call from this number, but as it was not a familiar number, it was let go to the answering machine. No message was left.

Assumed spam caller.
