Caller: WESTPAC BANK LEGITIMATE CALL
They Called to Validate some Overseas Transactions I HAD MADE on my credit card.
They confirmed all 4 transactions I made and I worked for a bank for 8 years. This is a legitimate process they are following to protect us as consumers. the comments from those above who clearly have No idea are quite humerous at best.
OK TO ANSWER WESTPAC CHECKING YOUR FUNDS ARE SECURE...

Legitimate call from ppl monitoring suspicious banking activity for multiple banks so appears to be some clearing centre, stopped legitimate payment overseas even though there are multiple level security steps involved in making payment. Blocked online access to account. Minor PITA. Recieved a number via sms to call, all fixed up after phone convo with call centre in Sydney.

It's a real number I didn't talk to the Asian guy and called back St Georget at 133330, and verified the text message of the fraud transaction. It is a true message, and I stopped the card immediately.

It IS stupid St George bank -- they constantly flag legitimate transactions as fraud even though it'd be impossible to log in to your account without ALL the many details. Going to close the account after many years, this was one time too many.

It's a scam call. Don't fall for this rubbish. Banks don't do this when there are fraudulent transactions. They bar your card and wait for you to call them. Ignore the text messages, ignore the calls. Give them nothing if they ask. If you are concerned, hang up on these d*cks and call your bank directly and ask them about it.

Bank fraud centre. IF YOU GET THIS CALL AND MISS IT, IMMEDIATELY CALL YOUR BANK. They'll call you when your card has been skimmed and is buying McDonalds meals all over China.

Missed the call. I called back. Gave a recorded message telling me to call a Westpac or St George bank number. Gave the legit Westpac number as a call back. Westpac Bank didn’t seem to know anything. So it wasn’t really helpful. I received an SMS immediately after this number called me from WBC_Apps. Told me to call a number regarding ‘my application’ and gave a ref no. too. But I haven’t made an application with Westpac or St George! Scam I think!
