It's safe it's the engineer calling back from TPG on a tech issue I had
Caller: (02) 9850 0800
My phone identified caller as UT 65 so I ignored it. Seconds later received SMS from TPG regarding switching from ADSL to NBN
it is the phone techniction department following up on a service. I had my service drop out, due to a loose wire. this is the number they message me from before and after to make an appointment and follow up. TPG gave me the reference number. I think the technician works for all different telcos Caller: TPG
Exactly, I called them, so there's no drama. No SCAM, just TPG
Also in addition to my previous comment, due to COVID many call centre personnel are now working from home. Some of the Asian countries are in far worse condition than we are in Australia. So it's not unusual at the moment to hear children in the background, barking dogs, or as I heard last week a rooster, and then a cat meowing very nearby. No, it's not "professional" but I'd rather they were safe working at home than going into a call centre. Given these people a break - they're doing their best under scary conditions. Many of them will have lost family or friends but are still trying to earn a living and support their families.
This is the number for TPG. We have an outage issue and this is the number we call and get calls from in relation to this ongoing problem.
They use a foreign call centre, so sometimes accents are a little difficult to understand. Also the calls are via a computer system, so the line is always very clear.
Legit number for TPG. Missed a called from this number but turns out to be a follow up call from TPG about my internet
Had 2 random calls in a row. They didn't leave voicemail messages. I looked them up on here and have now blocked the number... very suspicious.
