Called after midnight. When I woke up and answered there was no reply. Tried to call back in the morning, but the number could not be connected. Claimed to be from Telstra Support and said there was a problem with my internet connection. They asked me to logon to my computer. I asked then what I.P. address is causing the problem, they then hung up. upon answering, there was a delay before they spoke - then an Indian sounding voice - they did not mention who they were nor which company they worked for - when I asked their name they got abusive and hung up. Phoned me on my home phone - usual issue - delay, noise in background, Indian accent - so I'm already weary - caller claimed he was from Do Not Call Register, indicated they were updating their system etc. Then he asked "Currently you pay your home phone bill through Direct Debit. Is that correct". Given that would have nothing to do with the do not call register it started to sound even more dodgy - I asked what he needed to know that for - he subsequently hung up. Another scammer. (02) 9653 2145 has called my number eleven times all times of day and night. Thanks to comments on this website I know not to answer because they're filthy scammers. It's time something was done by the relevant authority about these unsolicited calls or has Australia become such a backwater that nothing can be done. Rang me at 7.30pm tonight on my home phone, with a delay when answering, then a beeping tone then an Indian guy saying he is from the Do Not Call Register (yet I haven't updated home number on that website so I know this guy is full of it but let him continue.. out of interest).
He said he "is updating their system right, so I do not receive any scam callers etc right". Then he asked "Currently you pay your home phone bill through Direct Debit correct". I asked "Why is that?". (Thinking what does that have to do with it and the Do Not Call Register is free). He automatically hung up on me.
He was rude and abrupt, also had his spiel down pat.
Makes me feel sorry for older customers, that may get sucked in by them!
Lady called said she was from Telstra and had my home details and said she was updating my "nuisance call blocking service" and also had when she started asking about my bill-paying with an expired debit card VISA, and then I hung up. Caller: allegelly telstra technical department.
An indian woman says she is a from Telstra technical ,and tells me Telstra is going to cut off my internet.i'm not with Telstra,but they ring at least 2 times daily.they are definitely scammers.telstra is not interested.surely Telstra can track them down.

When I callled this number back it came up your call could not be connected. I am going to block the number. Obviously it is a scam. lady saying that she was from a phone company, couldnt understand which one, and said that she was going to instigate the call blocking procedure on my phone number. Ask for a Mrs someone (not my name) and once I said that I am not that person, she hung up. Never found out what the "procedure" was for blocking but I am sure it would include financial or computer details along the way. i do not answer. why would anyone want to ring me on that number (02) 9653 2145 ?

Phone number (02) 9653 2145 has been ringing me around 5.30-6.30pm every night for a week. Then stops calling - then starts up again. Sometimes it connects to an Indian person saying they need me to go to my computer. Other times it seems like a marketing company. Sometimes there is a lot of noise in the background, like a call centre. I refuse to talk to them and hang up. These are scammers of some sort. Its a bad number if it rings you - block it. They never leave messages. Frustrating because I can't see the display well enough to see who is calling. no. disconnected when i called them back. Indian lady said she was from the Do Not Call register. Said she wanted to update my records. Proceeded to rattle of an address I stopped her and advised no details would have changed since registration at which point she terminated the call. I called back the number (02) 9653 2145 and reached vm but couldn't hear the company name Caller: A man (Sounded Indian)
Asked for someone who didn't live at my address, told me to "f**k off" then hung up
