Caller: I tried to ring
Had an unauthorised amount from ‘google, myfitness pal c Barangaroo , taken out. I had cancelled my card the mo th before and received a new number but it still went through. I cancelled card prior due to someone I knew got my details and used it. I summed once it was cancelled and a new number that would sort that do out. But no…rang my bank, another card arranged. They said it was accessed via google wallet.( if that helps anyone) I don’t have wallet use on my phone.
I then tried ringing the (02) 9374 4000 number to verify the access closed. I just get 3 random engaged signal then it shuts off.my ph says the line was cancelled.very suspicious now as to what going on 🤷♀️😩

This number is being used for phishing. Received a call from this number, listed as "Google Australia", claiming there was someone in Germany trying to change the phone number tied to me account, then tried to phish for account backup codes, and when I wouldn't give them to them, tried to get my to reset my password. When I refused to reset my password they hung up.

I was charged 10 times, 7 times in $.089 , 1 in $8.49 , 1 in $1.79 and 1 in 16.99. I was working and wasn’t on my phone till I saw the transactions coming in one after the other. Not cool. Was struggling with money already as it is and got $33.5 taken away from me. It kept going as i was locking my card and reporting it as stolen to stop the transactions. Tried to call (02) 9374 4000 but it kept answering with ai voice messages. Is there any way i can get that $33.5 back?

Scammer that tried to get a pending authorisation from a credit card. I have a different card for each payment I make so I knew this was a scam. Immediately after the failed attempt to extract money from my account I received a hang up call from a number in Estonia. This all occurred at 6.52 am. Probably checking to see if the stolen information these scammers had purchased on the dark web was correct. Have had to change my back card numbers and phone number which is a major nuisance. I've also reported the company that had the data breach and failed to disclose this which is an offence in Australia. Hope they get a decent fine too!

Another Indian FRAUDSTER enabled by Google who refuse to properly verify their merchants and comply with their statutory KYC requirements!

It is actually Google, not someone pretending to be Google. Got a call because I was expecting a call from Google. People are so skeptical that someone is out to scam them these days.

Charge on my card seemed suspicious with this number as reference but was actually related to a google app purchased - not scam - (magicrampage app)

Check your Google play subscriptions. If this number shows up in your transaction with no other information it is not necessarily a scam!! It shows on your Google play transactions. I accidentally copped a massive subscription fee not realising I had signed up to a 3 month trial through Google play.

They never called, the number was on a transaction from my Westpac credit card. Like others in this chain it was allegedly a google payment but I don't do googlepay so I knew it was not legit. $2 out and then $2 back a day later. I called Westpac who said that this is a typical test to see if a card is active, had I not cancelled the card they would have returned and helped themself.
