Caller: Amex Its Amex! I answered but the caller didn't respond and I hang up after 10 sec of waiting. I got SMS and E-mail confirmation that my card has been approved a minute after that call.

Caller: Amex AMEX really needs to fix their system. I applied for a credit card and the page for uploading documents timed-out. Then a day later I get a call. Had to verify myself (bad security practice) and they said they'd send me a link to upload docs. No email. Fast forward a few days and they call again.....still no email so how can I upload the docs?!?! Needless to say am tired of verifying myself - its a recipe for disaster because you're training people to mindlessly give out security information to people who call you....

Caller: Amex I received the call from this number twice on 30-01-2024. First time they hung up even before I could pick it up. Second time, no one talked. I had to keep checking and finally disconnected. I was expecting a call from Amex and I saw the truecaller showing this number for Amex.

Caller: Amex This is a legitimate AMEX number :) Were calling to follow up on a supplementary card application (but yes, the customer service people here do sound like scammers for some reason, they're quite downbeat and slow lol).

I just received a call from this number after applying for an Amex card to finalise the application. All these people saying it's a scam and they never applied for a card. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that someone has acquired your details through a data breach and they are trying to open a credit card in your name.
Follow up with Amex and have them cancel any applications and take steps to secure your identity.

Caller: AMEX I thought it was a scam at first. But to be fair, I had applied a for an AMEX card a few days ago and this was meant to be a follow up call for my details.
I even put the number on hold and called the 1300 amex number listed on the AMEX website to confirm the number and the email address they gave me.
