Legitimate caller - Calling to see if I wanted to schedule next blood donation, as it is holiday season and they desperately need blood donations. I received a SMS yesterday stating they would be calling and the reason for the call.

I like to donate blood once a year but they start calling after 6 months only to get me to donate more blood. I did it once after 6 months and later realised in my blood test that I had lost too much iron. I am scared to donate again that I will affect my health. I will donate again in future but only when I am ready.

So smart of jan , they think all the people healthy and can donate their blood i am o- and recently i am very sick and i have a huge problem on my blood and they still call me for donations!? Stop being dumb

Aussie Red Cross — I’m a frequent donor but I have told them 3 calls in a row that I can no longer donate due to a life threatening heart condition. Each time they have told me they’ll take me off the list and not call me again, but a week later I’ll get another call. They don’t seem to understand that I’m sick and cannot donate. They do not take you off the call list when they say they will.

I donated blood 5 months ago only and I started getting calls if I wanted to donate plasma or book the date for another donation. I want to and I will continue donating yearly but at some point this type of calls become a bit annoying. Think about the donors too.

they provide an option to opt out of both calls and texts so i suggest you use that

I’m sick of the calls I’m not eligible to donate blood but they call me 2-3 times a week asking me to and when I tell them no they always make me feel like crap for saying no

I hope when you need a blood product that there are none available - its people like you who make people like me feel sick. scum

They call me 3 times a day it’s really annoying I can’t donate right now and the last donation didn’t end well so I’m letting my body recover I’ll donate when I can!!!!!

I am a regular blood donator, I donate 3-4 times a year.
Couple month ago, I made an appointment and free myself up for a day, guess what I was sent back home because I have my kid with me, their new rule is: you can't bring anyone with you due to Covid-19.
It means I need to find/pay someone to look after my kid, so I can do blood donation..........

I picked up and they didn't say anything at all. Was on the line for 13 seconds.

Atleast 1 phone call daily, I donate whenever I can and have told them me and my family are unwell, doesn't stop them from calling each day asking for my Plasma donations
